The 4 mm Tubing Bender is ideal for bending aluminium, brass, and copper tubing that has an outside diameter of 4 mm. The Tubing Bender is able to form bends that have a bend angle up to and in excess of 180 degrees, and a bend radius of only 8 mm. With the assistance of the Spring Clamp, the Bender is able to form bends at precise locations along a length of tubing.

Product Description

4 mm Tubing Bender with Spring Clamp

The 4 mm Tubing Bender is ideal for bending aluminium, brass, and copper tubing that has an outside diameter of 4 mm.

The Tubing Bender is able to form extremely tight bends in such tubing without collapsing the wall of the tubing. The bends that the Bender can form have a bend radius of only 10 mm. This is an extremely small bend radius for 4 mm tubing. A small bend radius is particularly important when installing a lubrication system on a small machine. This is because the amount of room available for installing tubing on a small machine is usually quite limited.

Bend angles up to and in excess of 180 degrees can be achieved by using the Bender.

Each handle of the 4 mm Tubing Bender is screwed into a threaded hole in a respective plastic tubing and bender die support. Therefore, if a handle obstructs the formation of a bend in a length of tubing, the handle can be easily and temporarily removed so that the tubing can be bent.

A Spring Clamp is provided with the 4 mm Tubing Bender. The Clamp is able to assist in preventing tubing from moving relative to the widest tubing and bender die support while the tubing is being bent. Preventing such movement facilitates more accurate bending of the tubing.

Instructions

To bend a length of 4 mm aluminium, brass, or copper tubing using the Tubing Bender, simply:

  1. Rotate the handles of the Bender away from each other until they are aligned with each other so that the tubing passages that are formed between the groove in the brass bender die of the Bender and the grooves in the plastic tubing and bender die supports of the Bender are also aligned with each other.
  2. Insert a straightened portion of the tubing that is to be bent into the aligned tubing passages.
  3. Rotate the handles of the Bender towards each other until the tubing has been bent to the required angle. We recommend using a protractor to check that the bend angle is correct. If the bend is to be formed at a specific location along the tubing, the tubing should remain stationary relative to the widest tubing and bender die support while the handles are being rotated. To keep the tubing stationary, using a finger or thumb, press a portion of the tubing that is located in the widest tubing and bender die support hard against the groove in that support as the handles are rotated. If necessary, to assist in keeping the tubing stationary during the bending process, secure the spring clip to the tubing so that the clip abuts/contacts the side of the widest tubing and bender die support.
  4. Remove the bent tubing from the Bender by rotating the handles so that the tubing passages are again aligned with each other, and then withdraw the tubing from the aligned tubing passages.

Please note that the above are only basic operating instructions for the Tubing Bender. The free detailed installation, operation, and maintenance guides that are only supplied with our lubrication system parts kits provide comprehensive operating instructions for the 4 mm Tubing Bender. The comprehensive operating instructions explain how to form precise bends in a length of 4 mm tubing with the Bender. Following the comprehensive operating instructions saves much time and frustration, and assists to minimise any tubing wastage due to inaccurately located or improperly formed bends.
